Aliens like to drag
An unsuspecting driver gets challenged to a drag race by a bunch of bored aliens visiting earth.
Director Andrea Ricca comes back to draw our attention to his second short film, and once again he manages to amuse us. Even more so this
time around. The rules of the game haven’t changed: It’s another zero-budget shortfilm with CGI in the mix. But this time Ricca delivers a funier short film, that works up to a more satisfying conclusion at the end.
Don’t expect to see the aliens, as they themselves aren’t what this little film is about. The title and poster pretty much sum it all up. It seems Ricca is merely after to provide us with a fun ride, enhanced with charming visuals. And that’s exactly what this little film delivers.
There’s not much acting involved in UFO Race, so Ricca focusses a lot more on the 3-D graphics this time. A lot more animation went into this film than with Ricca‘s first effort The Guardian. Things are kept simple yet effective. Easy to follow and fun to watch. Watching this 3-minute short, sure isn’t a waste of anybody’s time. I wonder what Ricca will come up with next…
