Brett, now 40 and starting to feel it, has been a fan of fantasy cinema for as long as he can remember. Although Jaws was his first encounter with truly terrifying film, it was George Romero’s Creepshow in 1982 that made him a lifelong fan. As a teenager, Brett could be found reading comics, drawing monsters, and practising home-made make-up effects for fun, and, apart from the make-up (which was pretty bad!), not a lot has changed. After giving up on the idea of becoming a professional comic artist (too much competition and not enough pay), he became a graphic designer and illustrator. He now lives with his wife and two kids in the South of England, and still hasn’t totally given up on making his own film one day (or writing a bestselling novel).
Brett is an active member of the horror board on IMDb (where he is known as ba.harrison) and has currently written over 800 film comments for the site.
