Thinking it would be a a piece of cake giving every single film we watched at the 27th Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival a treatment on our site. I sure underestimated the amount of work that would go into this crazy idea. So it took a bit more time and effort than I at first anticipated to get this overview completed…

The Zorba family is a about to find out that some inheritances don’t come cheap. Especially when it comes with 13 more souls to feed… Souls of the terrifying kind. Oh well, there’s always the option of putting on your blue glasses and ignore them. Good riddance for the squeamish. And the red viewer will provide all the more fun for ghost fanatics.

Teenagers Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp), Tina Gray (Amanda Wyss), Glen Lantz (Johnny Depp), Rod Lane (Nick Corri) and others are having bad dreams. When they compare their dreams, they find that there’s a creepy guy – who turns out to be Fred Krueger (Robert Englund) – in all of their dreams. An overlooked early 80’s horror gem
Sometimes films will charm you right off the bat. Sometimes you’ll enjoy them only to later wonder what the hell you were thinking. And sometimes they appeal more to you the more you see them. This is the case for me with writer/director Jack Sholder’s 1982 film Alone in the Dark. (By the way, confusing it with the 2005 video game adaptation would be doing it a real disservice).
